Making a mood board about male poses in fashion has made me realise the difference between men and women in fashion. The men’ poses feel more natural and candid. It also feel more ‘moody’ and dowdy as opposed to the lively women’s poses. As if the women have to try to impress where as the men just have to be them. Sitting looking at the ground is a popular pose, as is smoking. The thoughtful look is also worn by many of the models in my mood board. I shall keep a lot of this in mind when taking my imagery. I have plans to play with role reversal within my work to play on this stereotypical posing idea.
