It is part of Photojournalism but often photojournalism is more serious which lies under the ‘umbrella’ of Documentary Photography

Narrative, Objectivity & Ethical Consideration
Objective or Subjective – Exploitation – can be ‘sensational imagery’

Editorial photography is competitive and poorly pair BUT is good for kudos, training and experience

It is creative as it has more of the photographer’s input – is flexible

Arthur Rothstein 1936 documented the drought in America and took an animal skull to place within his photographs – WASN’T the truth – NOT Photojournalism

Was the originator of the photo essay and often photographed military men though often placed his subjects to convey a message – CONSTRUCTED IMAGERY
Though still partially staged he shows actuality still – as he stated it is still ETHICAL
